About Utah Symphony Performs Prokofiev's Symphony No. 7

Utah Symphony Performs Prokofiev's Symphony No. 7

Under the direction of conductor and pianist Ignat Solzhenitsyn, the Utah Symphony performs an evening of classical and romantic favorites. The showpiece of the program will be Prokofiev's Symphony No.7, the last symphony from the noted Russian composer. Sometimes called the "Children's Symphony" for its use of simpler musical forms and themes, it is a work of great beauty, nostalgia and melancholy. Also on the program will be Mozart's Piano Concerto No.18, with Solzhenitsyn conducting from the keyboard, and Hindenith's Symphonic Metamorphoses (on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber).
