Many of these courses feature amazing views of the mountains and the cityscape, making golfing here both fun and aesthetically pleasing. The Club at Thanksgiving Point is one of the City's most popular courses and is worth the money—the course stretches for an impressive 7,728 yards. Wingpointe Golf Course is one of the best bargains in the area with fees of just $20-$25. This doesn't lack in service or quality though, so local keep coming back again and again. Other notable Salt Lake City golf courses include Bonneville Golf Course, Mountain Dell Golf Club and Bountiful Ridge Golf Course, all of which are bargains with fees of less than $30.

This Johnny Miller and Fred Bliss design is arguably the finest golf course in the Southern Rockies. The course opened in 1997 to rave reviews and continues to impress golf publications all over the country. A four-and-a-half recipient and ranked in the top 50 for service in the country by Golf Digest, this course is a must play in the Salt Lake area. The course measures a staggering 7,728 yards, but the elevation will make an average golfer hit the ball a lot farther than at sea level. Green fees are in the $35-$80 range.

Bonneville Golf Course

This William F. Bell design is one of the most popular municipal courses in Utah. Featuring stunning vistas of Salt Lake City and the surrounding mountains, Bonneville is a lush, mature course with plenty of elevation change. Green fees are a bargain at $20.

Mountain Dell Golf Club

This facility features two 18-hole championship courses, both designed by William H. Neff. The Canyon course measures 6,787 yards and the Lake course comes in at 6,709. Both are carved out of the surrounding mountains and are home to a staggering array of wildlife-watch out for the occasional cougar. Green fees are modest at $25-$30.

Old Mill Golf Club

One of the newest courses in the Salt Lake area, Old Mill is about ten minutes from downtown. The course features two very different sets of nine holes and measures 6,769 yards. Designed by Gene Bates, this outstanding municipal track features great views from either the front or back nine. Green fees are typically modest for the region: $25-$30.

Bordered by the Great Salt Lake, and the Salt Lake City International Airport, Wingpointe is an Arthur Hills old-style Scottish links course. A recipient of four stars, and a mention in the country's top 50 course values in the country by Golf Digest; Wingpointe is one of, if not the premier golf destination in the Salt Lake metro area. Green fees are ridiculous, only $20-$25.

This four-star municipal course in an upscale neighborhood about five miles outside Salt Lake City is considered one of the top value courses in the nation. A William H. Neff design, Bountiful Ridge opened in 1975. The course features outstanding playing conditions, incredible views of the surrounding mountains and green fees in the $20-$25 range.
