Salt Lake City Nightlife - Salt Lake City Sports Bars

Salt Lake City is home to the celebrated Utah Jazz, but BYU sports are also incredibly popular throughout the city's sports bars on game day. Highlander is an awesome neighborhood dive that attracts throngs of Jazz fans who love the pub grub, cheap beer and of course, the TV-lined bar. Docky's Sports Club makes sure all the TVs are tuned into the game, but various other distractions are available. Darts, pool, karaoke and even live bands help patrons take their minds off of a big loss. And during big wins, the drinks are constantly flowing. Iggy's Sports Grill, located in downtown Salt Lake City, probably has the largest menu of any sports bar around. Excited fans cheer the team on, making this a great place to watch away games or sold out events.

Copper Creek Pub and Grub

3451 South 5600 W, Salt Lake City, UT; Tel. 801.417.0051
Serving up classic American style food with numerous beers on tap, Copper Creek Pub and Grub is a great place for a burger and a brew. This Salt Lake City bar serves some of the best bar grub around—don't overlook the award winning montecristo sandwich, a hearty mass of turkey, ham and cheese battered and fried then dusted with powdered sugar and swabbed with jelly. Sound outrageous? It should. Don't let the crazy 'cristo distract you though, or you might miss a moment of the sports action, as numerous television sets are tuned into the game at all times. For hungry sports fans or those wanting to kick back a couple barely-alcoholic brews, Copper Creek Pub and Grub is a Salt Lake City bar worth stepping into.

Docky's Sports Club

2920 S. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah; Tel. 801.474.3598
Docky's Sports Club, a popular Salt Lake City sports bar, features so much more than just big games on their numerous TVs—nearly every night of the week has some type of tournament or event. Pool, darts and karaoke are some of the most popular activities hosted by Docky's, but live bands also frequent this Salt Lake City neighborhood bar. The friendly crowd always makes newcomers feel welcome, whether the Jazz or Real Salt Lake are winning or losing.

Highlander

6194 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT; Tel. 801.277.8251
Laid back and low-key, this Salt Lake City pub combines a classic dive feel with sports bar enthusiasm and is a regular gathering place for neighborhood beer guzzlers. A friendly crowd at Highlander will make you feel right at home as you sip a brew and watch the game. Obviously not meant to be visually extravagant, the décor is limited to wood paneling and NASCAR flags. But the focus here is on the beer, the great pub food, and the Utah Jazz. An outdoor patio is a great place to chill on a warm summer night, and karaoke contests provide hours of drunken, er, slightly tipsy entertainment.

Iggy's Sports Grill

423 W. 300 S., Salt Lake City, Utah; Tel. 801.532.9999
Popular among sports fans and Salt Lake City locals who enjoy a good meal in a comfortable setting, Iggy's Sports Grill serves up tasty food and drinks in a convenient downtown location. A huge menu including appetizers, pastas, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood and pizza will keep everyone happy during the game. A takeout menu is also available for those who'd rather watch with friends at home, but with Iggy's awesome game-time atmosphere, staying and cheering with fellow fans is nearly as fun as being at the stadium.

Lumpy's

145 Pierpont Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah; Tel. 801.532.1250
Lumpy's may be Salt Lake City's best sports bar for patrons who don't want to miss a second of the game. This bar features plasma TVs in every booth, complete with touch-screen remotes so fans can choose to watch whatever game they want. This is a private club so a membership fee is required by the state, but the nominal charge is well worth it and much cheaper than paying for all of the premium sports channels available at Lumpy's. This Salt Lake City sports bar also has a menu with all the usual pub grub, so feel free to stay for a full day—and night—of eating and drinking.
