About Gleewood
The Cowgirl, The Hippy, and The Jazz man... plus a long stretch of road and a new album. Acoustic Songwriting style of Jhett Schiavone (guitar/vocals/irish bouzouki) met up with the iconic cowgirl with traditional western/ folk musical style of Callie Sioux (bass guitar/vocals) and they merged with Jazz and virtuosos Drummer Myles Erdmann to make Gleewood. Playing original tunes infused with inspiration from the mountains and desert they call home in Southern New Mexico, Gleewood has set out since the release of their album on November 22nd of 2013, and have been on the road since.
The band has a laid-back stage presence and their sound is at once recognizable and their own.
Jhett's bass baritone vocals weld with Callie's high clear melodies to produce an enjoyable sound reminiscent of some of the 70's singer-songwriter scene. Their original material is evoked with instrumental
ingenuity and lyrics, reflecting day-?today dilemmas uplifted with their
Christian faith, and made emotionally tangible with a raw, organic feel.
With love for their American Rock N Roll heritage, and a nod to folk tradition, they have achieved a truly timeless sound.
