About JARED & THE MILL
Founded in the summer of 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona, Indie/Fork artist Jared & The Mill have quickly gained traction in the music scene for their unique brand of country infused folk pop. Their debut album, Western Expansion was released in the fall of 2013 and was met with critical acclaim, spawning several singles that have become fan favorites including: Breathe Me In, and Love to be Found. In 2015, they are scheduled to release Life We Chose, an EP they are currently recording in Los Angeles with renowned producer Tony Berg [Snow Patrol, The National, Fiona
Apple]. Of the new EP they share, “touring the county and becoming dramatically closer as friends and musicians has molded the way we write about things. Those miles changed our music and our souls, and it has made our bond even stronger. Life gives to you and it takes from you, and we have written about the give and take. We’ve written about those sweet things and those bitter things, and that struggle to stay the course and try your best to carve yourself into a good man. We are also writing about our desert home, which has been such a huge influence on us. We can’t wait to debut the new music.”
On the touring front, Jared & the Mill hit the road in June 2014 with Barry Gibb on his first tour in 15 years, playing for thousands of fans across the country at sold-out shows. They have also shared the stage with notable artists including: Flogging Molly, Cake, The Killers, Y La Bamba, Joe Pug, Horse Feathers, and playing at Summerfest 2014 in Milwaukee with The Zac Brown Band. They recently completed their nationwide fall tour [2014] alongside Canadian singer-songwriter Alexz Johnson and Patrick Droney, which kicked off in Boston and stopped in New York City, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Omaha, Denver, Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, to name a few. The band will also returned to Austin, Texas where last year they made national news, giving a victim of a tragic drunk driving accident at SXSW a private concert from her hospital room.
Jared & The Mill are: front man Jared Kolesar, banjo/mandolin player Michael Carter, lead guitarist Larry Gast III, bassist Chuck Morris III, drummer Josh Morin, and accordion/keys player Gabe Hall-Rodrigues.
